Workshop 1, An introduction to Digital Production.

A: OVERVIEW AND CONTEXT:

Consider websites, interactive CD-ROM's, advertisements and live web broadcasts to name but a few; these digital medium have all got to be planned from their concept to their final publishing. Both digital and analogue media may have to be employed and exploited to create a successful project and many assets will need to be created, manipulated and utilised fully. A successful digital media project should have a clear workflow and production plan and producers will need to be fully aware of all hardware and software requirements and constraints.

B: THE WORKSHOP:

This workshop will give participants an overview of a digital production workflow and will reference real world examples to illustrate and clarify concepts. The workshop will explain what assets are and will show the different kinds of assets that can be employed in projects and how to use them.

These workshops are oriented around individual needs and design requirements. The workshops are focused on solving production problems and participants may therefore like to bring their own material to work with.
